Nara Health Land (Nara Kenko Land) is a bathing complex in Tenri City, Nara Prefecture. Its large public bath is open 24 hours and features Yamato Hot Spring, which wells up from 800 m underground (sodium-chloride spring), enjoyed in open-air rock baths, pot baths, and hidden baths. The Yamato Sauna inside the large bath area has auto löyly and auto heat-wave functions, with automatic performances at :00 and :30 every hour. The paid sauna area includes eight types in total across men's and women's sections, with a variety of temperature ranges and methods including löyly saunas, cool saunas, a herbal meditation sauna, and the superheated-steam Aqua Stream, allowing visitors to totonou. There are two types of nano baths: a nano cold plunge bath and a room-temperature nano water bath. The facility also offers 10 different bath types such as nano and high-concentration artificial carbonated baths and an ancient hinoki bath, as well as an indoor leisure pool, Hashakizzu, Nara Plaza Hotel, restaurants, and SPA Water Lily Suiren. Free parking for approximately 800 vehicles is available.
A natural hot spring that wells up from 800 m underground. Chloride springs have salt components that bind with the skin to form a film that helps retain heat, making them hard to cool down and often called warming baths. There is a rich variety of open-air baths including open-air rock baths, pot baths, and hidden baths. The waters are also known as therapeutic springs for joint pain, sensitivity to cold, recovery from fatigue, and chronic skin diseases.
The Crystal Sauna features heaters applied to the walls using glass and a transparent conductive film heating element technology, designed to emit abundant far-infrared rays. This promotes sweating even in a mid-temperature, low-humidity environment via natural convection and far-infrared effects.
The air bath, also called the meditation sauna, is a space richly infused with Nara-grown medicinal herbs from Uda City. Inhaling the herbal vapors is said to have effects on the respiratory system, and the vaporized minerals are believed to work on the skin to remove impurities.
Located within the men's and women's large public baths, this sauna was renovated in February 2026. Auto löyly and auto heat-wave sessions start automatically at :00 and :30 every hour, and after the löyly, air is circulated from ceiling blowers.
An authentic löyly where water is poured onto Finnish-style sauna stones to generate steam. Humidity is high and the steam, which contains negative ions, envelops the body. Self-löyly is possible; guests can scoop water with a ladle and pour it onto the stones.
