About Spa Resort Ogoto Agaryanse

Spa Resort Ogoto Agaryanse is a day-use hot spring facility in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. It offers two on-site natural springs from Ogoto Onsen, a gentle alkaline simple hot spring and a sodium-bicarbonate-chloride spring, across a variety of outdoor and indoor baths. The facility features a wooden barrel sauna with a view of Lake Biwa and a large high-temperature sauna with staff-led aufguss sessions, while a deep cold plunge bath enhanced with binchotan charcoal completes the cooling and relaxation cycle. There are five types of bedrock bathing zones and plentiful dining options, and guests can stay overnight by booking the adjacent accommodation Kotoyu, making this one of Shiga's premier comprehensive hot spring resorts.

Hot SpringONSEN

First Natural Spring Bihada no Yu

A weakly alkaline simple hot spring that wells up from underground. True to its name, Bihada no Yu offers a mild, soft texture with a silky, slightly slippery feel that wraps the skin. The water is a faint pale yellow with a subtle mineral scent. It is gentle on the body even during long soaks, making it comfortable for a wide range of ages. Known benefits include relief for neuralgia, muscle pain, fatigue recovery, and skin-beautifying effects.

Second Natural Spring Daiko no Fukkatsu

A spring named Daiko no Fukkatsu, evoking the strata beneath Lake Biwa. The water has a light oolong-tea color and combines sodium-bicarbonate and chloride elements to offer both heat retention and skin-smoothing effects. After bathing, the skin feels soft and smooth and the warming sensation persists deep in the body. The spring is known for benefits against cuts, chronic skin conditions, and recovery after illness. It is used in the large open-air bath as well as in individual tsukuboyu and reclining baths.

SaunaSAUNA

01SAUNA

High-temperature Sauna (Indoor)

Men'sWomen's

A spacious large sauna with a four-tier tower-style layout. It combines far-infrared heating and a convection-style stove to deliver even heat across the body. Popular staff-led aufguss performances, held several times a day, involve sauna staff using large fans to distribute aromatic steam throughout the room, drawing enthusiastic response. A TV is installed and the stable environment makes it suitable for long, steady sessions.

02SAUNA

Barrel Sauna (Outdoor)

Men's

A wooden barrel-shaped sauna located in the outdoor area. Its greatest appeal is the spectacular view of Lake Biwa through the large rear window, allowing guests to warm up while overlooking the lake and the sky. The open design admits fresh air, creating a mellow heat and an outdoor atmosphere. Two nearby cold showers are provided for cooling down after the barrel sauna.

03SAUNA

Salt Sauna

Women's

A women-only salt sauna where guests apply specially selected salt to the body to encourage sweating. The combined exfoliating effect of the salt and gentle warming results in smoother-feeling skin after bathing. The steam-style gentle heat is mild and comfortable, making it suitable for longer sweating sessions with less irritation.

Cold BathCOLD BATH

01COLD BATH

Cold Bath

Men'sWomen's

A deep cold plunge bath containing binchotan charcoal is a quietly popular feature. The bath is deep enough to fully submerge the body, providing a diving-like cool down. The binchotan gives the water a soft quality that feels pleasant on the skin, and many guests enjoy the sensation of heat ebbing from the body after entering. Located right next to the high-temperature sauna, the flow between sauna and plunge is very convenient.
