About Sauna Talo Toyama

"Sauna Talo Toyama" is a Nordic-style bathing facility in a quiet residential neighborhood in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture. As the name "Talo" (house) suggests, its charm lies in a homey space filled with the warmth of wood. It features the signature "Pieni Sauna," modeled after a Finnish cabin, where you can enjoy self-löyly, as well as a "dry sauna" in the classic Showa-era strong style. Unwind in a luxurious cold plunge bath with 100% soft natural water drawn from underground and in the open-air bathing area, then spend the whole day relaxing like you're at home in the cafe and co-working space equipped with manga.

Hot SpringONSEN

Main Bath Komeiseki Onsen

An artificial hot spring made with the natural mineral stone Komeiseki. The water, enhanced by strong ionic effects, is very soft and silky, and is said to be especially effective for relieving stiff shoulders, lower back pain, and poor circulation. With a bathing feel that gently caresses the skin, your body keeps warming from deep within even after you get out, and a pleasant moisturizing sensation lingers for a long time.

Open-Air Bath and Attraction Baths

A wide variety of baths available in the main bath area and open-air section. Electricity baths, jacuzzis, reclining baths, various esthetic baths, rolling baths, and more help promote circulation and gently loosen stiffness in the body. There is also a stone bath enjoyed while being blown by the refreshing open-air breeze, allowing you to spend a deeply soothing time to your heart's content in baths that change from day to day.

SaunaSAUNA

01SAUNA

Pieni Sauna

Men'sWomen's

A sauna with a genuine sauna cabin inside the bathing area, evoking a Nordic atmosphere. In an authentic Finnish style that lets you enjoy self-löyly, pouring water over the sauna stones releases a pleasant aroma and mellow heat that envelops your whole body. The temperature is set gently, so there is no feeling of suffocation and you can take your time to work up a sweat. You can also enjoy subtle changes in aroma from the essential oils, making it a charming way to experience the traditions of the birthplace of the sauna with a strong sense of privacy.

02SAUNA

Dry Sauna

Men'sWomen's

A spacious, stepped high-temperature dry sauna. It offers the old-school, powerful Showa strong style, with dry heat that prickles against the skin. On the lowest level, there are reclining chairs where you can lie back and enter the sauna in luxurious comfort, allowing you to warm your whole body evenly while reclining. It is designed to heat the body from deep within all at once, and is beloved by sauna enthusiasts who seek a large sweat.

The manager's pride and joy: 100% natural water drawn from underground and used in a free-flowing system. The spring water nurtured by Toyama's abundant nature is exceptionally soft on the skin, with a mellow texture that seems to blend smoothly into the body. The depth is designed to be fairly deep, allowing you to cool down thoroughly up to the neck even in a half-sitting posture. The moment you step in, a gentle veil of cool natural water envelops your entire body, bringing the ultimate sense of refreshment.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
