"Yomiuriland Chobo Onsen Kakei no Yu" is a day-use hot spring facility adjacent to HANA・BIYORI, where you can enjoy flowers, nature, and sweeping views all at once. It features an open-air hot spring with panoramic views toward Tokyo and an automatic löyly sauna. In the men's bath in particular, the roughly 90°C sauna and roughly 8°C cold plunge bath offer a sharp hot-and-cold experience. With no lodging facilities, it provides a retreat-like space near central Tokyo where you can casually enjoy high-quality relaxation and an extraordinary bathing experience with a view.
This natural hot spring spreads across the open-air area and offers both a hot bath and a warm bath, allowing you to enjoy the water together with the view. It combines the warming feel of a chlorinated spring with the gentle touch of a bicarbonate spring, creating a pleasantly moist after-bath sensation. The clear water is kept clean, and in the warm bath you can take your time soaking while feeling the scenery and the breeze.
This sauna uses an automatic löyly system, in which water is dropped onto the sauna stones at regular intervals, sending steam and heat surging through the room. Kept at around 90°C, it draws in daylight and the view through large windows, delivering a refreshing sweat and an immersive sauna experience. By circulating the steam with fans, heat is distributed evenly, allowing for deep warming and a pleasant sense of bliss even in a short stay.
Alongside the low-temperature bath, there is a standard cold plunge bath that lets you lower your body temperature gently, so you can choose the temperature range that suits your heat tolerance and condition. It allows you to cool down naturally without putting strain on the body, broadening the range of your totonou experience through a varied flow such as sauna → low-temperature cold plunge bath → standard cold plunge bath → outdoor air bath.
With intense cooling power at around 8°C, this is a sharply cold cold plunge bath that quickly cools down a heated body. Its defining feature is its firm, bracing coldness, which instantly awakens the sympathetic nervous system and leads you to a deep state of totonou.
