Located in Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Ito no Yudokoro is a bathing facility that luxuriously uses mountain spring water. The underground water is directly filled into the bath, enveloping the body with softness and creating a lightness after bathing. With a löyly sauna, meditation sauna, cold plunge bath with natural underground water, and a relaxation space where the outside air flows through, it combines heat, water, and tranquility to design a time for deep relaxation. It also features a dining area using ingredients from Itoshima, as well as a rock bath and fitness area, creating a rhythm for a stay that is 'a place of relaxation just beyond the everyday.'
An all-dark sauna where you can face yourself. It is pitch-black enough to deprive you of vision, making it ideal for meditation. The L-shaped layout fits about 16 people. Staff regularly perform löyly. There is no TV, making it perfect for conversing with your inner self. By touching the thumb and index finger together in a meditation pose, you can focus solely on your breathing. It is reputed to provide the best meditation experience to date.
Löyly is performed regularly, pouring water onto the sauna stones to generate steam. The room temperature is around 90℃, allowing you to sweat thoroughly. There is a TV, so long sauna sessions are comfortable. The space is roomy, and there is little wait even during busy times. The löyly steam quickly induces sweating and offers a strong detoxifying effect.
Uses continuously flowing natural groundwater sourced from the land of Itoshima. Cold natural water cascades down from overhead like an overhead waterfall shower, and the strong flow makes it feel colder than the actual temperature. The naturally soft water has a gentle texture, is rich in minerals, leaves the skin smooth, and makes hair silky. You can enjoy a supreme cooldown free from the drying and damage caused by chlorine in tap water. It provides a refreshing sensation that feels as if the water strips everything away.
