Shikanoyu Famous Hot Spring
A famous hot spring that has continued to warm the bodies of many people since it opened in 1897, and one of the signature hot springs of Jozankei. It still springs continuously from directly beneath the large public bath. Its spring quality is sodium chloride spring, also known as the "hot water of heat," and when you bathe, the salt adheres to your skin and prevents sweat from evaporating, warming you from the core. The water is colorless, transparent, and remarkably mild, and its warmth lingers long after you leave the bath. You can enjoy it to the fullest in the spacious glass-walled indoor bath and the open-air bath where you can hear the murmuring of the stream.
