About Uhara no Yu

"Koino Onsen Uhara no Yu" is a natural hot spring day-use facility in Higashinada Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. You can fully enjoy a sodium chloride spring that gushes up from 1,089 meters underground and is highly effective at retaining heat, with free-flowing source water. After working up a good sweat in the high-temperature sauna with far infrared rays, you can cool down in a superb cold plunge bath using mellow spring water from Mount Rokko. This well-equipped spa resort also features a low-temperature steam salt sauna that is especially popular with women, as well as a high-concentration carbonated spring.

Fresh Source Water Large Rock Bath / Scalding Source Bath

You can fully enjoy a sodium chloride spring bubbling up from 1,089 meters underground as free-flowing source water. Rich in salt, the water forms a veil of salt on the skin that helps prevent sweat from evaporating, producing an exceptionally strong warming effect. The comforting warmth lingers long after you get out, and the water is cherished as a beautifying bath that leaves the skin moist and hydrated.

SaunaSAUNA

01SAUNA

Far-Infrared High-Temperature Sauna

Men'sWomen's

A spacious, tiered tower-style sauna room. Far-infrared heat radiated from a large stove delivers warmth deep into the body. It also has an auto-löyly function, and the moderate humidity helps keep it from feeling stifling. You can relax while watching TV and enjoy a pleasant sweat.

02SAUNA

Low-Temperature Steam Sauna (Salt Sauna)

Men'sWomen's

A gentle steam sauna set at a low temperature. Rub the salt provided in the room onto your body and wait for it to gradually dissolve, which helps remove dead skin cells and dirt from pores more easily. It is easy on the skin and leaves it smooth and silky as you sweat. It is also recommended for those who do not like high-temperature dry saunas.

Rokko Spring Water Bath

Men'sWomen's

A luxurious cold plunge bath made with natural spring water from Mount Rokko. Fresh water is continuously flowing in free-flow, and the water quality is wonderfully soft with a pleasant, skin-adhering feel. With its thoroughly chilled temperature, it quickly and refreshingly cools down a body heated by the sauna or a high-temperature source spring.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
