About Saplus

"Saplus" is a day-use bath facility in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture. Its appeal lies in its luxurious setting, overlooking the seasonal beauty of the Kinugawa River right next to it and an SL steam locomotive. You can sweat comfortably in a full-fledged Finnish sauna with the scent of wood in the air, or in a wood-fired sauna where you gaze at flickering flames in the silence. After your sauna session, cool down all at once in the naturally flowing cold plunge bath filled with refreshing natural water drawn from deep underground. In addition, the rare sulfur spring in the open-air bath, drawn from a famed hot spring, gently envelops your body from the core.

Hot SpringONSEN

Large bath, Kinugawa Nio-son no Yu

The only full-fledged simple sulfur hot spring in the Kinugawa Onsen area. You can enjoy the blessed waters drawn from the famous Kinugawa Nio-son no Yu in the open-air rock bath with a spectacular view. The water is intentionally kept at a lukewarm temperature, so you can take your time and enjoy a long soak while gazing at the Kinugawa Gorge flowing before you and the seasonal scenery, without getting overheated. Its distinctive sulfur scent and soft water gently soothe away the fatigue of everyday life.

Indoor bath, daily changing bath

A daily changing bath in the indoor bath area. Herbal baths that warm you comfortably, as well as baths with a variety of ingredients and additives that change from day to day, provide different kinds of relaxation depending on the day. The lukewarm water lets you warm your body gradually, and soaking in it between the hot spring and sauna gently releases both physical and mental tension.

The gentle heat unique to a wood stove creates a pleasant warmth that gradually penetrates deep into your body. From the window, you can look out over the murmuring Kinugawa River and the rich surrounding nature, and in this quiet meditative space with no TV or background music, you can set aside distractions and focus deeply on yourself.

A sauna where herbal water is poured onto sauna stones that have been slowly heated by an electric stove, releasing pleasant steam and the rich aroma of herbs. While the heat is relatively mild, the high humidity encourages smooth perspiration. In the calm space with no TV or background music, you can relax deeply in the gentle warmth, both mind and body.

A refined sauna in the women's bath area, wrapped in the pleasant scent of cypress. Its large windows are the highlight, allowing an unobstructed view of the seasonal beauty of the Kinugawa River and the sweeping panorama of majestic nature. Luxuriously using refreshing natural water pumped from about 200 meters underground on the premises in a continuous flow. It has a crisp coldness, yet also the smooth texture unique to groundwater, gently and effectively tightening a body heated by the sauna. Right in front of the cold plunge bath is an outdoor air bath space where you can hear the murmuring of the Kinugawa River, leading you to a profound state of totonou through an ideal flow.
