Hot Spring Information
Sukagawa Botan Onsen
A natural hot spring flowing directly from a source 850 meters deep underground. It has a high heat-retention effect characteristic of chloride springs, keeping the body warm long after bathing. The mildly alkaline water smooths the skin and is affectionately known as "Bijin no Yu" (Beauty's Bath). The indoor bath is set at 40-43°C, and the open-air bath at 40°C. After the sauna and cold plunge bath, the salt film envelops the body, deeply relieving fatigue. It is also expected to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, and sensitivity to cold.
Sauna & Cold Bath Information
Dry Sauna
A dry sauna boasting the largest scale in the region. The high-temperature heat gently envelops the body, promoting a significant amount of sweating. Self-löyly is possible, and when water is poured over the sauna stones, steam rises rapidly, creating waves of heat. You can enjoy the luxury of being steamed at your own pace in a spacious area. The tiered seating allows you to choose your preferred temperature zone, which is also a draw.
Barrel Sauna
A barrel sauna set up in the outdoor area. The high-temperature sauna, where you can feel the outside air, offers a perfect blend of openness and concentration. The unique shape of the barrel creates heat convection, allowing for efficient sweating in a compact space. It's a private-feeling space where a small group can take their time to relax.
Natural Water Cold Plunge Bath 1
A cold plunge bath using natural water pumped from underground. The crisp, cold 18°C water quickly cools down the body heated by the sauna. It has a softness unique to natural water, providing a comfort different from tap water. It's a temperature range that allows for quick and thorough cooling.
Natural Water Cold Plunge Bath 2
A lukewarm cold plunge bath set at 27°C. It's ideal for those who find the 18°C cold plunge bath too chilly or for those who want to soak for a longer time. You can enjoy a gentle cool down while feeling the mildness of the natural water. By alternating between the two temperature ranges, you can find your own way to achieve totonou.
Hinoki Natural Cold Plunge Bath
A special cold plunge bath where you can immerse yourself surrounded by the scent of cypress. Fresh natural water is constantly flowing, allowing for cooling in the best condition. It's a compact size for one person, offering a luxurious private time. The contrast between the warmth of the cypress wood and the cold water is pleasant.
