SPA P・SPO Yutorikan Tobe Onsen is a day‑use onsen facility located on a small hill in Tobe Town, Ehime Prefecture. The bathing area is decorated with a huge Tobe-yaki ceramic wall unique to this pottery region, creating a tasteful atmosphere. The facility features a far‑infrared dry sauna and a compact but properly chilled cold plunge bath. Tobe Onsen

TypeNatural Hot Spring

A high‑quality, low‑osmolarity, weakly alkaline, low‑temperature natural hot spring. The water has a silky texture that leaves skin feeling smooth, earning it a local reputation as a beauty hot spring. In addition to a spacious main bath, the facility offers a variety of functional baths such as an ultrasonic bath and a bubble bath. Part of the bathing floor is covered with onsen‑style tatami mats—the first of their kind in the Chugoku‑Shikoku region—providing a soft, slip‑resistant surface underfoot. Large windows offer seasonal views such as cherry blossoms in spring and autumn foliage in fall.

A compact three‑tiered dry sauna. A far‑infrared heater is positioned directly in front of the benches so you feel the heat directly. The thermometer typically reads in the high 80s °C, but the lower humidity and dry setting produce a sharp, retro Showa‑era strong heat sensation. With no TV, it is a quiet space where you can focus inward and work up a refreshing sweat. No sauna mats are provided, so bringing your own is recommended.

A compact cold plunge bath located immediately next to the sauna. A washbowl is hung on the handrail for easy ladling of water, a thoughtful touch. Water temperature varies by day but is set relatively mild, making it accessible for those who are not fond of very cold shocks. It gently cools the body heated by the sauna. There is no outdoor resting area, so sitting on the bath edge or resting in front of the dressing room fan to enjoy the breeze is comfortable.
