A quiet valley public onsen surrounded by the clear Ashikawa stream and mountains

Yamanashi Kofu City

Kamikunoyu Fureai Center, located in the nature-rich mountain area of southern Kofu City, is a municipally operated day-use hot spring loved by the local community. A calcium-sodium sulfate spring gushes naturally from a fault 1500 meters underground, offering a gentle onsen that warms you from the core. In addition to a large communal bath and open-air baths that alternate weekly between a carbonated spring and utase-yu (cascading shower bath), the facility features a quiet dry sauna with no TV or background music and a continuously flowing groundwater cold plunge. The open-air cooldowns where you can feel the clear mountain air provide a uniquely luxurious healing experience.
