Hananoyu

Log-cabin style high-temperature sauna and a seasonal outdoor cold plunge

Oita Hita City

Hananoyu is a super sento located in the Urban Town area of Hita City, Oita Prefecture. Beloved by locals, the large public bath offers a variety of tubs including jet baths and waterfall-style shower streams (utase-yu). There are two types of saunas: a log-cabin style dry sauna boasting the highest temperatures in Hita (about 80–88°C) heated by a far-infrared gas stove, and a gentle steam mist sauna. The cold plunge bath is located just in front of the sauna rooms, and on the men's side the outdoor bath is periodically converted into a very large cold plunge as a unique seasonal feature. The open-air area also has foot acupressure stones and relaxation chairs for enjoying the outdoor cool-down.
