"Izumo Ekimae Onsen Lamp no Yu" is a day-use hot spring facility in a great location, just a 1-minute walk from JR Izumo City Station. In a Japanese-style space filled with the scent of hinoki cypress and the glow of lamps, you can enjoy a golden-brown iron-rich sodium chloride spring drawn from 1800 m underground, served as heated free-flowing water. In the open-air bath area, three single-person jar baths and a cold plunge bath using groundwater stand amid about 250 moso bamboo stalks, allowing you to enjoy alternating hot and cold bathing in a quiet setting that feels far removed from the city. It also features separate dry saunas for men and women, a free foot bath next to the entrance, and an aroma healing salon, making it a famous hot spring worth visiting before or after sightseeing in Izumo.

A natural hot spring pumped up from a vein 1800 meters underground, an iron-rich calcium-sodium chloride spring. As the iron comes into contact with the air, the water changes to a golden-brown to brownish color, and the minerals are so concentrated that deposits build up in the bath itself. Because the source temperature is about 27°C, it is heated to around 42°C, and a small amount of chlorine is added for hygiene, but it is basically offered as free-flowing water. With a distinctly salty, iron-rich feel, it has long been loved for benefits said to help with anemia, menopausal symptoms, neuralgia, and recovery from fatigue. Please note that towels may turn brown.
