About Kaike Hotel Kaike Onsen Shio no Yu

"Kaike Onsen Shio no Yu" is a day-use hot spring facility in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture. It is attached to Kaike Hotel and is open year-round until 11:00 p.m. Its biggest draw is the spectacular view of the Sea of Japan from its location close to the coast, as well as the second-floor open-air observation bath, where you can gaze at the rough waves illuminated at night. It features a large indoor bath with sodium chloride spring water, an open-air bath on the first floor with a large cypress barrel tub, and both men and women have access to a high-temperature dry sauna and cold plunge bath. With a bedrock bath called "Happatsubo," a relaxation area with reclining chairs, and body care services, you can fully enjoy an onsen resort atmosphere even if you are not staying overnight.

Hot SpringONSEN

Kaike Onsen

A warmly retaining bath filled with sodium chloride spring water from Kaike Onsen. Its mild, salty texture gently envelops the skin, and after bathing, a veil of hot spring minerals remains, helping you stay warm even on winter walks. The indoor bath and open-air bath on the first floor have a pleasantly moderate water temperature, while the large cypress barrel tub offers an openness that makes you want to soak for a long time. The highlight is the second-floor observation bath, where you can luxuriate in the rough waves of the Sea of Japan and the night illumination all to yourself while soaking in the water.

SaunaSAUNA

01SAUNA

Dry Sauna

Men'sWomen's

A high-temperature dry sauna that makes you sweat thoroughly. Once you settle onto the bench, the intense heat from the convection stove immediately surrounds your body and brings on deep sweating. The room is equipped with a TV and a 12-minute sand timer, making it a calm space that works equally well for focused sauna sessions and casual use. In 2025, the women’s side was renovated into a dry sauna, allowing both men and women to enjoy an authentic sweating experience. It is a popular sauna at Kaike Onsen.

Cold BathCOLD BATH

01COLD BATH

Cold Bath

Men'sWomen's

A cold plunge bath reached by a short route from the sauna room. It uses a continuously flowing system with water supplied from the tap, and the water temperature changes with the seasons. In winter, it feels sharp and refreshing, while in summer it has a milder coolness that makes longer soaks comfortable. After cooling down after the sauna, you can relax on the benches or in the open-air space next to the second-floor observation bath, surrounded by the Sea of Japan breeze and the sound of the waves.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
