KusukusunoYu

A cypress bath surrounded by rural scenery, and a cold plunge bath that changes character with the seasons

Yamaguchi Ube City

A day-use bathing facility inside Kusu Komorebi no Sato, located in a peaceful rural area of Nishimakura, Ube City, where the Arifukawa River flows. Positioned at the heart of a mixed-use complex that serves as a hub for regional revitalization and community exchange, it sits alongside a farm produce market, a farm-to-table restaurant, a bakery, and rental allotments in addition to the hot spring. Outside the windows, expansive farmland and mountains stretch out before you, offering a simple satoyama atmosphere that city baths cannot provide.

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

A large public bath that offers two types of bath, an open-air rock bath and a stone bath, both finished with Yamaguchi-grown cypress for the pillars, walls, and ceiling, and alternated monthly between men and women. The alkaline simple spring, with a pH of 8.6, is fed as free-flowing water that is heated from a source temperature of 34.6°C, and is known for its skin-smoothing beautifying effects as well as benefits for neuralgia, muscle pain, and joint pain. In a space wrapped in the scent of cypress, you can slowly surrender yourself to spring water that preserves the freshness of the source.
