A sky-high hot spring overlooking Kintaikyo and Iwakuni Castle, with two baths to enjoy on alternating days for men and women

Yamaguchi Iwakuni City

A natural hot spring located on the 7th floor of Iwakuni International Tourist Hotel, standing at the foot of Kintaikyo, one of Japan’s three most famous bridges. The bathhouse, named Ittsubashi no Sato, is used by men and women on alternating days, so guests can enjoy both of its distinctly themed baths during their stay: Yūgiri no Yu, a cypress bath with a view of Iwakuni Castle, and Asagiri no Yu, a rock bath overlooking Kintaikyo. Soaking while looking out at the illuminated Kintaikyo below and Iwakuni Castle, which appears to float like a castle in the sky on the mountaintop across the river, is a special experience hard to find anywhere else.
