TenchinoYadoOkunohosomichi

Two renowned hot springs and an adult sauna, together with the quiet of a hidden inn and exquisite award-winning cuisine

Hyogo Kobe City

"Tenchi no Yado Okunohosomichi" is a hidden inn in Arima Onsen in Kita Ward, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, renowned for its cuisine. In the large public baths, you can enjoy two different hot springs in luxury: the reddish, mineral-rich Kinsen, drawn from Gokuraku-sensengen, in the open-air baths, and the colorless, transparent, mellow private spring in the indoor baths. Bath areas A and B each come with a dry sauna and a compact cold plunge bath. After slowly working up a pleasant sweat in the sauna, you can cool down in the cold plunge bath and experience blissful outdoor bathing while taking in the quiet mountain atmosphere of Arima. Every guest room also has a private open-air hot spring bath.

Hot Spring & Bath Information

Arima Onsen (Kinsen)

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Known as Japan’s oldest hot spring, Kinsen is a golden-colored spring rich in iron and salt drawn from Gokuraku-sensengen. With twice the saltiness of seawater, bathing forms a thin salt veil on the skin, delivering excellent warming and moisturizing effects, and leaving you feeling warm and deeply moisturized long after you get out. It flows into the open-air baths of each large public bath, where you can fully enjoy an exceptional bathing experience in the fresh air.

Okunohosomichi Spring

TypeNatural Hot Spring

A colorless, transparent private spring in the spacious indoor baths of the large public bath, perfect for a slow soak. It is characterized by a mild, gentle alkaline feel and gradually sinks into the skin as if smoothly adhering to it. Because it does not leave you feeling overly tired from prolonged bathing, it is ideal for long soaks. By alternating it with the Kinsen open-air bath, unique to Arima, you can enjoy the luxurious contrast between two different spring qualities and even greater skin-beautifying effects.
