About Sansuien

"Sansuien" is a historic hot spring inn in Yuda Onsen, Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. Its greatest pride is its alkaline simple sulfur spring, offered as 100% free-flowing natural hot spring water blended from three private spring sources, with no heating and no added water whatsoever. The faint aroma of sulfur and the smooth, soft texture of the water are truly exquisite. At the day-use bath, Suizan no Yu, there is a far-infrared sauna that gently warms the body, a cold plunge bath, and a charming open-air bath, allowing guests to enjoy an exceptional moment of healing amid the beautiful Japanese garden, which is a Registered Natural Monument.

Hot SpringONSEN

Free-flow from source

Bath 1

A fully free-flowing open-air hot spring made by blending three private spring sources, with no heating and no added water at all. The faint sulfur aroma drifting from the spring outlet and shower, along with the smooth, slippery feel characteristic of highly alkaline water with a high pH, powerfully conveys the true strength of the hot spring itself. The open-air area, rich in natural surroundings, offers outstanding openness, and you can experience forest bathing and a high-quality hot spring bath at the same time while listening to the rustling of the trees. Your skin becomes beautifully smooth, and the warming effect is extremely strong.

Free-flow from source

Large bath for overnight guests only (indoor bath)

A luxurious indoor large bath available only to overnight guests. There is Jiju no Yu for men and Yayoi no Yu for women, and in both baths, pure 100% private-source free-flowing hot spring water, with no heating and no added water, constantly overflows from the tub. This space, which preserves the rich blessings of the hot spring in their natural state, is colorless and clear, yet exceptionally strong in its restorative effects, making it ideal for improving health and relieving fatigue. Wrapped in gentle steam rising from the bath and a faint sulfur aroma, guests can fully enjoy a quiet nighttime onsen experience.

SaunaSAUNA

01SAUNA

Far-infrared sauna

Men'sWomen's

A far-infrared sauna equipped in the day-use bath Suizan no Yu. The gentle heat released from the stove penetrates deep into the body without irritating the skin, slowly drawing out a high-quality sweat. Because the temperature is kept low, there is no sense of suffocation at all, and guests can enjoy a long, leisurely sauna session. The quiet interior, scented with wood, offers a calm relaxation space ideal for stepping away from the noise of daily life and spending time in peaceful meditation.

Cold BathCOLD BATH

01COLD BATH

Cold Bath

Men'sWomen's

A compact cold plunge bath installed right next to the sauna room. Tap water carefully maintained at a pleasantly cool temperature gently cools down the body that has been thoroughly warmed to the core in the far-infrared sauna. The refreshing feeling the moment you step in is wonderful, and alternating between sauna and cold plunge bath dramatically promotes blood circulation. The nearby open-air area is surrounded by lush greenery, allowing you to enjoy a pleasant outdoor cooling bath while also taking in the fresh air and forest bathing.
