Isami-kan

A hot spring inn overlooking the clear flow of the Nakagawa River and the sunset, with the romance of a 150-year-old traditional house

Tochigi Nakagawa Town

Isami-kan is a folk-style hot spring inn located in Tochigi Prefecture’s Nakagawa Town, nestled along the clear flow of the Nakagawa River. Inside, beams relocated from a 150-year-old traditional house create a space that feels nostalgic and warmly inviting. All rooms face the river, offering river views, and at dusk you can take in a spectacular view said to be among the most beautiful sunsets in Japan. The hot spring is Batō Onsen, an alkaline simple hot spring with a luxuriously smooth, silky feel and a pH of 9.3. Although there is no sauna or cold plunge bath, you can fully enjoy the exquisite bijin no yu in the open-air bath and indoor bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water.
