About Aio-so, the Sea-View Inn

"Aio-so, the Sea-View Inn" is a hot spring inn located halfway up Nakamichi Mountain in Aio Higashi, Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Set on a small hill overlooking Suo-nada in the Seto Inland Sea, it prides itself on its sweeping panoramic views from the large observatory bath and open-air bath. The water is the natural Aio Onsen, which gently warms the body and helps relieve fatigue. The baths, which alternate daily, are also equipped with a full-fledged dry sauna and cold plunge bath, allowing guests to relax while taking in the magnificent scenery. Private baths are also available, so you can enjoy a luxurious hot spring stay with the specialty kuruma ebi cuisine and spectacular views.

Large Observatory Bath and Open-Air Bath

A natural hot spring with outstanding views, overlooking Suo-nada from halfway up Nakamichi Mountain. It draws a simple weak radioactive cold mineral spring from Aio Onsen, and the water is very gentle, warming the body deeply and slowly from within. The large public bath alternates between men and women every other day and includes a natural hot spring open-air bath with an unobstructed panoramic view and a spacious large observatory bath. On a clear day, you can even see Yufu-dake in Oita Prefecture. The magnificent natural scenery completely soothes away the fatigue of travel.

A spacious, open dry sauna installed in the alternating men's and women's large public bath, Yuunagi no Yu. From the sauna room windows, the magnificent scenery of Suo-nada stretches out before you, allowing you to slowly work up a sweat while gazing at the beautiful sea and sky as they change from moment to moment. The convection stove generates a moderately powerful heat that evenly fills the room, promoting circulation and gently resetting the fatigue of daily travel. This high-quality experience, where visual beauty and heat come together, brings deep relaxation.

A convenient cold plunge bath located right next to the sauna room. The crisp, refreshing tap water thoroughly cools your entire body after the sauna, delivering the ultimate cooldown. As you enter, your skin feels pleasantly tightened and both body and mind are refreshed. After getting out, head to the open-air area and enjoy a luxurious outdoor air bath, feeling the gentle sea breeze blowing in from Suo-nada and savoring the sensation of becoming one with nature.
