About Bokoro

"Bokoro" is a long-established onsen ryokan in Hawai Onsen, Yurihama Town, Tohaku District, Tottori Prefecture. It boasts Japan's only "lake-top open-air bath," floating on Lake Togo. Reached by crossing a red bridge, this bathing area offers an overwhelming sense of openness, as if you were soaking in the lake itself. The abundant hot spring water, gushing from the bottom of Lake Togo, is served as luxurious 100% natural free-flowing spring water with no added water or reheating. The large communal bath also features a compact dry sauna and a cold plunge bath, delivering an exceptional bathing experience in harmony with the superb lake scenery.

Hawai Onsen

A natural hot spring with abundant water that bubbles up from the bottom of Lake Togo. The baths are completely refilled with fresh hot spring water every day and offered as luxurious 100% natural free-flowing spring water with no added water or reheating. In the famous lake-top open-air bath, you can feel the lake's beautiful changing scenery up close in the morning and evening, enjoying an extraordinary sense of openness as if you were soaking in the lake itself. The soft, slightly salty water warms your body thoroughly from the core.

A very compact dry sauna adjoining the large communal bath, Tennyo no Yu. A convection stove with sauna stones gently and steadily fills the room with heat. In a tiny, silent space with no TV, you can slowly work up a comfortable sweat.

Cold Plunge Bath (Tennyo no Yu)

A small, one-person cold plunge bath installed just outside the sauna room. With a mild water temperature, it is easy on the body and lets you cool down slowly and gently. It is also ideal for alternating between the bath and the fresh indoor onsen tub.
