About Shoyokan

Shoyokan, a hot spring inn nestled in Yunoko Onsen in Minamata City, prides itself on its superb location overlooking Shiranui Sea. From every open-air bath, you can gaze out at the calm sea and fully enjoy the famous hot spring water flowing directly from the source. The inn’s appeal also lies in its varied baths, including the differently styled Goshokugan no Yu and the cave-style bath, as well as an indoor bath scented with cypress. For dinner, guests can savor a lavish kaiseki meal featuring plenty of fresh seafood caught locally, making for a luxurious stay that lets you experience the sea with all five senses.

Bath

A natural hot spring with source water flowing directly from the spring, overlooking Shiranui Sea. The sodium bicarbonate and chloride spring water is expected to have beautifying effects that help leave the skin smooth and soft. Bathing in the sea breeze while enjoying the creatively designed open-air baths, such as the spacious Kamon no Yu that seems to open out toward the sea and Goshokugan no Yu featuring carefully selected giant rocks chosen from all over Japan, is especially memorable.
