Matsuya, The Flower Inn of Kinugawa Onsen, is an artful hot spring inn in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, distinguished by the bijinga of Yumeji Takehisa, a painter of the Taisho Romantic era, and the wildflowers that adorn the property. All rooms face the Kinugawa River, offering superb river views and sweeping gorge scenery. From the large public baths and open-air baths, you can listen closely to the murmur of the Kinugawa River while enjoying the skin-friendly weakly alkaline simple spring water, known as the beauty bath. Although there are no sauna or cold plunge bath facilities, the private open-air baths and rooms with private hot spring baths let you enjoy a luxurious soak in a private setting.

Large Public Bath and Open-Air Bath

A large public bath and open-air bath facing the magnificent scenery of the Kinugawa Gorge. There is a men's bath, Yumeji no Yu, and a women's bath, Oha no Yu, each equipped with a spacious indoor bath and an open-air bath where the murmur of the river is pleasantly audible. The alkaline simple spring water is colorless, transparent, and remarkably smooth on the skin. It is said to be excellent for beautifying the skin, recovering from fatigue, and relieving neuralgia, and you can enjoy a peaceful soak surrounded by the rich natural beauty of Kinugawa.

Private Open-Air Bath

A private open-air bath where you can have exclusive use of the stunning views of Kinugawa and the hot spring in a completely private setting. There are baths with different styles, including a Shigaraki-ware tub, allowing families and loved ones to spend a luxurious time together without being disturbed by anyone. Feel the pleasant river breeze and listen to the murmur of the stream as you savor this famous hot spring to your heart's content.
