About Hotel Lake Villa

"Hotel Lake Villa" is a highland resort hotel surrounded by rich nature in Shigaraki Town, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture. It features Shigaraki Onsen Tarao no Yu, where you can enjoy a wide variety of thoughtfully designed baths, including an earthenware pot bath made with the local specialty Shigaraki ware, a large kiln bath, and cypress baths, with the men's and women's baths alternating daily. The hot spring is a mildly alkaline simple spring with a distinctive smooth, slippery texture. In addition to an authentic high-temperature sauna, the facility also offers a salt sauna that helps leave your skin feeling moisturized, a cold plunge bath, and an outdoor air bath area where you can feel the breeze of the great outdoors.

This mildly alkaline simple spring has a pH of 8.39 and an exceptionally smooth, slippery feel, with a texture reminiscent of a beauty serum. You can luxuriate in the famous waters across a variety of baths, including indoor baths, a large circular bath, and pot baths made with Shigaraki ware. As a skin-beautifying hot spring that leaves the skin smooth, it is ideal for post-sport recovery and everyday refreshment.

SaunaSAUNA

01SAUNA

High-temperature sauna

Men'sWomen's

A high-temperature dry sauna located in the large bath area (West Bath and East Bath). With no TV, it is a quiet, focused space where you can slowly warm your body while surrounded by the comfort of wood. It naturally brings out a pleasant sweat, helping you feel the detoxifying effects of releasing everyday fatigue and waste products. After leaving the sauna, head to the nearby cold plunge bath or the outdoor bathing area filled with the greenery of the highlands for a luxurious totonou experience.

02SAUNA

Kiln bath

Men's

A unique steam kiln bath located in the East Bath, modeled after a large Shigaraki-style kiln. Gentle steam fills the room, warming your body deeply and comfortably without putting strain on it, while encouraging a soothing sweat. (Installed in the East Bath, which alternates daily between men and women.)

03SAUNA

Salt sauna

Women's

A salt sauna located in the outdoor area of the West Bath. While you sweat thoroughly inside the sauna room, gently applying salt to your skin helps remove dead skin cells and leaves your skin smooth. The mild temperature makes it easy to stay relaxed without feeling stifled. (Installed in the West Bath, which alternates daily between men and women.)

Cold BathCOLD BATH

Cold Bath

Men'sWomen's

A pleasantly cool cold plunge bath located near the sauna and kiln bath. After a sauna session, it quickly tightens the body and refreshingly cools you down when you're overheated.
