All of the open-air baths feature fresh natural spring water in a true free-flowing style, with no added water or reheating. The large public bath, "Shibutsu no Yu," is also equipped with a gentle mist sauna that is easy on the skin, providing the ultimate relaxation together with the spectacular gorge views that resemble a landscape painting.

This mixed-gender open-air bath offers a spectacular, unobstructed view of the Katashina Gorge right in front of you, showing seasonal beauty like a landscape painting in fresh green, autumn leaves, and snow-covered scenery. The water is true free-flowing spring water with absolutely no added water. The inner side is slightly hotter, while the outer side is milder, allowing you to luxuriate in pure, clear simple hot spring water while feeling the breath of the gorge's natural surroundings. Women-only hours and bathing wear rental are also available for peace of mind.

Large Public Bath Shibutsu no Yu / Hiuchi no Yu

Two atmospheric large public baths (indoor baths) featuring murals of the beautiful scenery of Mount Shibutsu and Lake Oze, symbols of Oze. The water is the smooth, skin-adhering "beauty bath" type. From Shibutsu no Yu, you can continue directly to the small open-air bath "Mizukagami," surrounded by lush rocks and greenery, and enjoy a liberating hot spring bath. Because the baths alternate between men and women by time of day, you can enjoy the different atmosphere of both bath areas.
