Enjoy a superb sulfur spring, the Chikurin open-air bath, and a sauna at an inn associated with Noguchi Ujo, featuring a 100% source-fed free-flowing bath

Fukushima Iwaki City

"Iwaki Yumoto Onsen Ugonoyu Shintsuta" is a historic hot spring inn founded in 1877 and beloved by the modern Japanese poet Noguchi Ujo, who is known for the nursery rhymes Red Shoes and Soap Bubbles. Its pride is the hot spring of Iwaki Yumoto Onsen, one of Japan's three oldest hot springs, with an astounding flow of 5 tons per minute, drawn straight from the source and enjoyed as a fully free-flowing 100% natural spring bath. You can indulge in many celebrated benefits, including the Beautifying Bath, Heart Bath, and Fever Bath. In particular, the scenic garden open-air bath Chikurin, surrounded by beautiful bamboo groves and gardens, is the inn's symbol, where you can relax in a mixed bath while wearing bathing garments. The large public bath area also has a dry sauna for slowly warming the body, and private reservable baths where you can enjoy the hot spring in complete privacy.
