About Hotel New Awaji

"Hotel New Awaji" is a hot spring ryokan in Sumoto City, Hyogo Prefecture. At its signature Spa Terrace Suigetsu, guests can enjoy two distinct hot springs: the smooth-feeling Sumoto Onsen and the mineral-rich private source red bath, Komoe Onsen. It features open-air baths modeled after the terraced rice fields unique to Awaji Island, as well as rock-built tubs. There is a mild dry sauna in both the men’s and women’s baths, plus cold plunge baths made of cypress and stone. From the special Villa Rakuen rooms, each with its own open-air bath, to a wide variety of restaurants and top-class esthetics, this luxurious inn offers a truly indulgent stay.

Hot SpringONSEN

Komoe Onsen (Red Bath)

A rare red bath fed by a private source that rises from within the grounds of Awaji Yumekaisen. Rich in minerals such as iron and salt, it is characterized by a distinctive reddish-brown, cloudy water. With the pleasantly dense, moist feel typical of a highly saline spring, it warms the body deeply from within. After bathing, a film of salt remains on the skin, helping the warmth and moisture-retaining effects last longer and leaving the skin feeling smooth.

Sumoto Onsen

A renowned hot spring that has long been loved, rising from the foot of Mount Mikuma. Its high-pH alkaline water is famous for its exceptionally smooth texture, almost as if it clings to the skin. With an extremely mild, unobtrusive feel, it is gentle and easy for people of all ages to enjoy at their own pace. In scenic terraced open-air baths and other settings, you can gaze out at the sea panorama and enjoy a soothing soak that refreshes both body and mind.
