Tucked away in the quiet mountains at the uppermost reaches of Kurokawa Onsen, where the headwaters of the Chikugo River flow, Gengryu no Yado Hozantei is a refined inn spread across a vast 5,000-tsubo site with only eleven rooms. Every room is an annex-style guest room equipped with either an open-air bath or an indoor bath, all fed by 100% free-flowing water from its own natural hot spring source. At the large open-air bath, Tengu no Yu, where you can feel the murmuring stream of the river up close, there is also a stylish "starry sky switch" that turns off the lights at night so you can gaze up at a sky full of stars. Surrounded by the rich nature of Aso, this blissful hideaway lets you savor superb hot spring waters and deep tranquility to your heart's content in a private space where no one will disturb you.

Tengu no Yu

A large open-air bath with an overwhelming sense of openness, right beside the headwaters of the Chikugo River.
