Ashikari

A mountain inn in Yugawara that offers the Yawara Yu cherished since the Manyo era, along with authentic kaiseki cuisine

Kanagawa Yugawara Town, Ashigarashimo District

"Kaiseki Ryoan Ashikari" is an onsen inn in Yugawara Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, set amid rich natural surroundings and built in the sukiya style. Quietly tucked away in a 2,000-tsubo mountain setting, it was fully renewed in 2021, and all 17 rooms now offer premium accommodations with private open-air baths fed directly from the source and terraces. At the public baths, Tachibana no Yu and Tsubaki no Yu, guests can enjoy the much-loved "Yawara Yu," cherished since the Manyo era, while taking in the borrowed scenery of the magnificent Hakone outer mountains and beautiful moss gardens. Authentic sukiya-style kaiseki prepared by a skilled head chef, along with superb onsen waters for beautiful skin, soothe all five senses.
