About Asanoya

"Asanoya" is a long-established ryokan in Yumura Onsen in Shinonsen Town, Mikata District, Hyogo Prefecture. It owns four abundant private hot spring sources and provides generously flowing natural hot spring water throughout the large baths, open-air baths, and even the baths and washbasins in every guest room. Its biggest highlight is Yumechiyo-dō, a low-temperature geothermal sauna located underground, down from the open-air bath. Reviving an underground space that was once used as a drying room, it lets you enjoy gentle yet remarkably abundant perspiration without straining your body, thanks to the geothermal heat of the hot spring and the steam filling the space. This is a refined Japanese-style ryokan where heartfelt hospitality lives on.

Yumura Onsen

A natural hot spring at Yumura Onsen, abundantly flowing from the four private sources on the property. Rich in sodium bicarbonate, it is renowned as a beauty-enhancing bath that removes dirt from pores and leaves the skin smooth and bright. It also offers the strong warming effect of chloride and the moisture-retaining properties of sulfate, so after bathing you can continue to enjoy a pleasant feeling of glow, warmth, and suppleness. You can savor it to your heart's content in the large baths and the atmospheric open-air baths.

Low-temperature geothermal sauna Yumechiyo-dō

Men'sWomen's

A very rare low-temperature geothermal sauna that makes use of the natural energy of the hot spring, set underground below the open-air bath area. Named by the screenwriter of the film Yumechiyo Nikki, this space lets you spend time leisurely while wrapped in comforting warmth. Because the room is filled with hot spring heat and steam, there is no stuffiness or drying damage to the skin and hair, and it produces astonishingly abundant perspiration. It is a gentle, moisture-rich, superb steam sauna experience.
