"Asaba" is a hot spring ryokan in Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture. It boasts more than 500 years of history, and the Noh stage known as "Gekkaiden," associated with the Kaga Maeda family, stands beside a tranquil pond. All baths are fed directly from the ryokan's own free-flowing hot spring source in Shuzenji. The property offers an open-air bath where the breeze through the bamboo grove feels wonderful, a large indoor bath fragrant with Japanese umbrella pine, and two private baths for an intimate soak. Many of the 16 guest rooms are also supplied with this famous hot spring, and the ryokan is fully equipped with a salon and spa.
