About Suimeikan

"Gero Onsen Suimeikan" is a hot spring ryokan in Gero City, Gifu Prefecture. It offers lavish enjoyment of one of Japan's three most famous hot springs across three large baths: Shitara no Yu, with the fragrance of hinoki cypress; the panoramic observatory large bath; and the nature-rich open-air bath. A full-fledged sauna and a cool cold plunge bath are also available. Large bath, Shitara no Yu

A luxurious large bath on the 3rd floor of Rinsen-kaku, where even the ceiling, walls, and pillars are made with a focus on hinoki cypress. In a space filled with the pleasant scent of wood, you will find a high-temperature bath, a low-temperature bath, and an ancient hinoki bath, allowing you to fully experience the smooth waters unique to Gero Onsen. While gazing at the beautiful Japanese garden outside the window, you can spend a leisurely and soothing moment.

Large bath, Observatory Bath

A large bath located on the top floor, the 9th floor of Hisen-kaku. Available 24 hours a day, it offers a sweeping panorama of the beautiful townscape of Gero Onsen and the Hida mountains through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. In the bright, spacious bath lined generously with granite, you can soak in beautifying waters and enjoy an extraordinary sense of openness.

Large bath, Open-air bath

A tasteful open-air bath on the 1st floor of Sansuikaku, surrounded by massive rocks and abundant trees. At night, you can bathe while gazing up at Hida's beautiful starry sky and feeling the pleasant breeze that flows through the mountains. In this nature-filled space, you can enjoy the blissful feeling of becoming one with nature, and there is also an attached indoor bath called Botan no Yu.

Private hot spring bath

A private rented hot spring bath on the 4th floor of Rinsen-kaku. It features two baths with different atmospheres, Shichiri no Yu and Oribe no Yu, both using Gero Onsen's natural spring water directly. In this private space, you can luxuriously have the mild, skin-friendly finest hot spring all to yourself.

Guest room hot spring bath

A hot spring bath available in some guest rooms, including rooms with open-air baths and rooms with indoor baths supplied with hot spring water. The natural spring water of Gero Onsen is brought directly into the room's bath, allowing you to enjoy high-quality beautifying waters in a private space whenever you like, 24 hours a day. This is the ultimate private hot spring.

A compact cold plunge bath installed very close to the sauna room. Its sharp, icy chill thoroughly cools down your body after the sauna. Although it uses tap water, it has a refreshing quality and feels very smooth on the skin. After fully lowering your body into it to cool down, you can enjoy the ultimate relaxation while feeling the pleasantly conditioned air from a deck chair in the changing room.
