A long-established inn right in front of Kusatsu Yubatake, where you can enjoy the rare Shirahata Spring and Bandai Kosen Spring as free-flowing natural spring water

Gunma Kusatsu Town

"Hotel Ichii" is a historic hot spring hotel founded in the Edo period, located right in front of Yubatake, the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen in Kusatsu, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture. It draws water from two distinct and especially unique major spring sources in Kusatsu. In the indoor public bath, you can enjoy the rare, gentle Shirahata Spring, which can be piped to only about 10 inns around Yubatake. In the garden open-air bath, Ishitei, you can compare soaks in Bandai Kosen Spring, the hottest and most powerfully antibacterial clear acidic spring in Kusatsu. Both baths feature 100% free-flowing natural spring water, making for a luxurious bathing experience.

Flow-through

The indoor bath in the public bath lets you enjoy the very rare Shirahata Spring, which has the longest history in Kusatsu, rises just beside Yubatake, and is piped only to a limited number of inns. It contains an exceptionally rich sulfur content and is characterized by its softly cloudy, milky-white water. The pleasant scent of sulfur fills the bath, and in the newly built spacious tubs with different temperature settings, you can slowly savor the warmth of a famed spring that seems to gently cling to the skin.

It is colorless and clear, with a stimulating feel that is more acidic than lemon water. Known for its powerful antibacterial properties and excellent peeling effect that helps remove old dead skin, it offers the chance to enjoy a premium free-flowing open-air bath while admiring the changing beauty of the four seasons.
