About KAI Poroto

"KAI Poroto" is a hot spring inn on the shores of Lake Poroto in Shiraoi, Hokkaido. Its defining feature is that every room offers a view of the lake, and the architectural design inspired by Ainu culture is evident throughout. In the large public bath, you can enjoy continuously flowing, straight-from-the-source moss bath water, rare worldwide, rich in plant-derived organic matter. In the open-air bath of the bathhouse with its distinctive pointed roof, you can soak while becoming one with the spectacular seasonal views of the lake, and in the dome-shaped indoor bath, you can leisurely enjoy the tea-brown water in a mysterious cave-like space. Seasonal kaiseki cuisine made with Hokkaido's abundant seafood, along with experiences that let you connect with the Ainu view of nature, await you in a stay that can be experienced only here.
