About Kai Kusatsu

"Kai Kusatsu" is a hot spring ryokan in Kusatsu Town, Gunma Prefecture. It offers a new style of stay that lets guests move between a serene inn surrounded by rich nature and the lively Kusatsu Onsen town through a private tunnel. The large public bath draws from two famous natural hot spring sources: Kusatsu's signature Bandai-kō source and the rare Nishi-no-Kawara source, allowing guests to luxuriate in natural spring water flowing directly from the source. The dynamic open-air bath with massive rocks and the baths with different water temperatures offer an exceptional bathing experience. With local-style guest rooms and soba kaiseki dining, it delivers a more refined stay.

Large public bath

A large public bath that draws from two sources: Bandai-kō, Kusatsu's signature source, and the rare Nishi-no-Kawara source. The high-temperature, strongly acidic Bandai-kō water flows generously into the hot baths, lukewarm baths, and the open-air bath featuring dramatic massive rocks. Meanwhile, the slightly milder acidic Nishi-no-Kawara water can be enjoyed slowly in the lukewarm bath. Guests can savor abundant, luxurious natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source, with different water temperatures and spring qualities.
