Yuami no Shima at Nagashima Onsen is one of Japan’s largest hot spring facilities, attached to Nagashima Resort in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture. It offers 17 baths for men and women combined, with a major highlight being the magnificent open-air baths set in vast natural scenery modeled after Kurobe Gorge and Oirase Stream. There are two types of sauna, high-temperature and low-temperature, so you can work up a sweat to suit your preference. The hot spring is an alkaline simple spring known as the beauty bath, and some tubs offer fresh 100% source water with free-flowing onsen. With rock baths and excellent relaxation facilities as well, it is an ultimate resort spa where you can spend the whole day at a leisurely pace.
An alkaline simple hot spring gushing from underground. Known as a beauty bath that helps remove old dead skin cells, it is colorless, clear, gentle, and easy on the body. In the grand open-air baths that recreate the natural scenery of Kurobe Gorge and Oirase Stream, you can fully enjoy this famous hot spring. Some tubs offer free-flowing spring water.
A dry sauna set to a high temperature that holds in heat well. You can enjoy an authentic sauna bath while maintaining a moderate level of humidity.
A mild, low-temperature sauna that is easy to enter even for those who do not like very hot saunas. It is less likely to feel stuffy, so you can relax inside for a longer time. It gently warms you from the core and lets you spend a soothing, relaxing moment.
A cold plunge bath located right near the sauna room. It keeps the water cold enough to quickly cool and tighten your body after the sauna. The spacious open-air area, designed to evoke a vast natural landscape, also has outdoor air-bathing spaces, so you can cool down in an open, refreshing environment.
