“Sanso Kannawaen” is an inn nestled in the hot spring district of Kannawa in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, offering free-flowing natural hot spring water. Its blue chloride-rich waters contain iron, and leave the skin feeling moisturized even after bathing. The large public bath does not have a sauna, but you can relax in the open-air bath, indoor bath, bedrock bath, and steam bath. Every room has its own private open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water, and the special guest hanare and detached rooms also offer a dry sauna. It is a secluded retreat in Kannawa where you can fully enjoy the blessings of the natural spring.

The chloride spring rising from Kannawa’s source is 100% free-flowing natural hot spring water in the large public bath and the private open-air bath in every guest room. No added water, no heating, no circulation. The blue waters containing iron leave the skin feeling soft and hydrated, and are expected to help with neuralgia, muscle pain, and sensitivity to cold. The large public bath also includes indoor and open-air baths, as well as a bedrock bath and steam bath.
