"Awara Onsen Traditional Ryokan no Nukumori Haiya" is a hot spring ryokan in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture. A long-established inn with a history dating back to the Meiji era, it offers natural hot spring water from a private spring on the property, and the chloride spring warms your body from the core. The newly created Garden Sauna features a comfortable sauna room made with Fukui Prefecture timber, auto löyly, a spacious round cold plunge bath, and an open-air bathing area. Free tourmaline bedrock bathing and an accessible private bath are also available, letting you spend a luxurious, relaxing time together with seasonal kaiseki cuisine.
A rich natural hot spring gushing from the private spring on the premises. The spring quality is sodium chloride spring, which warms the body from deep within after bathing and helps prevent you from cooling down afterward. The large bath tubs use the precious Shakudani stone, creating a refined and calm atmosphere. You can enjoy a luxurious soak while looking out over the garden stones, whose beauty changes with the seasons.

While watching the hot spring water cascade down like a waterfall, you can fully enjoy Awara’s renowned abundant waters. The soft, gentle spring water wraps your whole body and slowly eases away daily fatigue and muscle tension.
A full-scale sauna that recreates a Finnish smoke sauna. The walls and deck make generous use of beautiful Fukui Prefecture timber, filling the room with a pleasant woody aroma. With auto löyly from a stove fitted with impressive sauna stones, you can experience a high-quality circulation of heat and steam. The room has levels, so you can enjoy invigorating sweating comfortably at your preferred temperature zone.
A round cold plunge bath located just outside the sauna room. It is spacious enough for several people to soak comfortably, allowing you to cool your heated body all at once in a pleasant way. The water is gentle on the skin, making for a refreshing cool-down. Totoi chairs for outdoor air bathing are provided nearby, leading you smoothly into relaxation after the cold plunge.
