"Hotel Tenbo, Ikaho Onsen" is a long-established hot spring ryokan in Ikaho, one of the largest in Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture. Set on a vast site of 1,000 tsubo, it draws in the two representative springs of Ikaho, Kogane no Yu and Shirogane no Yu, at the same time. Guests can enjoy a varied bath-hopping experience in the bathhouse Abare and the basement Iwa-buro. The large public bath is fully equipped with a genuine dry sauna and an excellent cold water bath fed by pure underground water from the Haruna Mountains, and together with relaxing open-air bathing surrounded by greenery, it offers one of the finest totonou experiences in Ikaho.

Large Public Bath Abare (Kogane no Yu, Shirogane no Yu)

Abare, the bathhouse with a scale of 1,000 tsubo. It offers a luxurious indoor bath filled with Ikaho’s traditional cloudy Kogane no Yu by free-flowing spring water, along with numerous bathtubs where you can enjoy the fresh and clear new spring Shirogane no Yu. Guests can enjoy an ultimate hot spring experience while touring a wide variety of themed baths, such as the dandan no yu, pot baths, mysterious cave baths, and tourmaline baths, all designed with the creativity of a theme park.

Basement Iwa-buro

A full-scale rock bath with a mysterious sense of immersion, built using about 600 tons of the natural monument Sanbaishi without sparing any of it. In a wild yet calming space that feels like you have slipped into a natural cave, you can fully enjoy the gentle, colorless, transparent hot spring Shirogane no Yu. With a waterfall bath and a richly atmospheric open-air bath also available, you can quietly close your eyes under soft lighting and savor a luxurious time deeply wrapped in Ikaho’s famous spring.

Private Family Bath Kakaa Tenga, Karakkaze and Others

Private reserved baths ideal for families and couples. In addition to baths with unique names inspired by Jōshū specialties such as Kakaa Tenga and Karakkaze, there are a total of five tasteful private baths, including Tsuki, Hoshi, and Sora. Without worrying about anyone else, you can leisurely monopolize the smooth Shirogane no Yu in a private space, offering supreme comfort for families with small children and for travelers who want to enjoy the hot springs while spending quality time together in complete privacy.

A genuine dry sauna equipped in the indoor bath area of the large public bath Abare, with a rich woody aroma. The mild and comfortable heat warms you deeply from the core without making you feel breathless, encouraging healthy sweating. By adding it between rounds of the various baths in the spacious large public bath, you can further enhance blood circulation and add an extra sense of refreshment to a liberating bathing experience.

Basement Iwa-buro Dry Sauna

A calm and refined dry sauna adjoining the basement Iwa-buro, which is lavishly lined with the natural monument Sanbaishi. Designed to harmonize with the solemn, quiet atmosphere unique to the rock bath, this space lets you quietly close your eyes and face yourself while enjoying abundant sweating in strong heat. This chic sauna room, like a grown-up hideaway, is appealing because it helps reset everyday fatigue from deep within.

Abare Large Public Bath Cold Water Bath

A refreshing cold water bath placed right next to the dry sauna. It uses abundant underground water from the Haruna mountain range, and the feel on the skin is astonishingly smooth and very gentle. It quickly cools down a body heated by the sauna, wrapping the whole body in a clear sense of freshness. This clean and invigorating cold water bath is ideal for alternating bathing as you move toward the post-bath lounge or the open-air area.

02COLD BATH

Basement Iwa-buro Cold Water Bath

A compact cold water bath quietly installed beside the sauna in the basement Iwa-buro. It also uses clear natural water from Mount Haruna, and its smooth quality blends pleasantly with the skin. Because there is no chlorine-like irritation, you can bathe calmly. In the tranquil space facing the quiet underground rock surface, you can soak up to your shoulders and quietly enjoy an exquisite hot-cold contrast bath, as your body’s pulse gradually settles into balance.
