Hotel Shirakawa Yunokura is a historic onsen ryokan in Kinugawa Onsen, Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture, founded in the early Showa era. Its natural spring, "Hagoromo no Yu," is a gentle, skin-friendly alkaline simple hot spring that helps keep you warm after bathing. The facility features large baths overlooking the Kinugawa Gorge, with separate baths for men and women: "Hinoki-yu" for men and "Ishiyu" for women, as well as open-air baths where you can feel the breeze of the valley: "Kodachi no Yu" for men and "Iwafu no Yu" for women. The large baths for both men and women also have authentic dry saunas, and at the two private half-open-air baths, "Kochi" and "Teichi," you can enjoy the beautiful gorge scenery through the seasons all to yourself in a highly private setting.

Gorge-view Large Bath and Open-air Bath

The men’s large bath "Hinoki-yu" and open-air bath "Kodachi no Yu," as well as the women’s large bath "Ishiyu" and open-air bath "Iwafu no Yu," are all available. The natural spring "Hagoromo no Yu" is a gentle, skin-friendly alkaline simple hot spring that helps keep you warm after bathing. From the indoor baths, you can take in a sweeping panoramic view of the Kinugawa Gorge, and in the open-air baths, you can enjoy a relaxing bath-hopping experience while feeling the pleasant breeze that blows through the valley.

Private Half-Open-air Bath

Two private half-open-air baths, "Kochi" and "Teichi," are available, designed with privacy in mind. You can have a luxurious private hot spring all to yourself while gazing at the Kinugawa stream, fresh greenery, autumn leaves, and, at night, a sky full of stars. Fee required: 3,300 yen for 50 minutes, reservations accepted at the front desk on the day.

Large Bath Dry Sauna

A full-fledged dry sauna equipped in each of the men’s and women’s large baths, using a METOS ZIEL stove. While looking out through the small window at the beautiful flow of the Kinugawa Gorge, you can slowly enjoy a pleasant sweat in the heat. There is no cold plunge bath, but a cold shower is available for cooling down.
