Shiga Omihachiman City
A healing space of radium hot spring and authentic sauna, wrapped in the breeze of Lake Biwa and the scent of firewood
"Chomeiji Onsen Amaha no Yu" is a day-use bathing facility nestled on the shore of Lake Biwa in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture. Its biggest draw is the natural radium hot spring with one of the highest spring yields in Shiga Prefecture, along with an authentic wood-fired sauna equipped with a stove made in Finland. After working up a good sweat while surrounded by the crackling sound and aroma of burning wood, you can cool down your whole body in the deep cold plunge bath. Outdoor bathing in the open-air area, where you can feel the breeze from Lake Biwa, offers exceptional comfort that makes you forget the fatigue of everyday life. After your bath, you can spend as long as you like in a peaceful, unhurried space in the lounge with reclining chairs and a terrace overlooking the lake.

A natural radium hot spring boasting one of the highest radon contents in Shiga Prefecture. It is characterized by a gentle, soft feel on the skin and warms you steadily from the core. With a variety of baths, including Shigaraki ware jar baths and cypress baths in the open-air area, you can enjoy a tour of the different tubs while savoring deep relaxation together with the crisp air by Lake Biwa.

A full-fledged wood-fired sauna equipped with a stove made by NARVI of Finland. Inside, you are surrounded by the crackling sound of burning wood and the rich aroma of timber, creating an immersive space where you can quietly face yourself. The soft yet powerful heat unique to wood fire envelops your entire body, gradually drawing out a deeply satisfying sweat from the core.

A low-temperature sauna with a calm Japanese atmosphere and tatami flooring. Even those who are not fond of intense heat can enjoy a long, leisurely session without feeling short of breath. In the stillness, you can slowly warm your body and spend a gentle time relaxing both mind and body as tension melts away.

A full-fledged deep cold plunge bath located right next to the sauna. Plenty of cold water quickly cools down your heated body, while the pleasant water flow stimulates your whole body. After getting out, you can smoothly move on to outdoor bathing in the open-air area where the breeze from Lake Biwa flows through, giving you an exceptional sense of refreshment.
