About SAUNA&SPA SOLEIL Nagahama
SAUNA&SPA SOLEIL is a bathing complex in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture. It has a wide range of sauna rooms: on the men’s side, a tower sauna alive with automatic löyly and a meditation sauna with löyly you pour yourself; on the women’s side, a gentle mist sauna. There are also private sauna rooms where you can relax in your own space and enjoy heat just the way you like it. After the sauna, you cool down all at once in an ice-cold plunge that stings the skin, then drift into a deep totonou, a state of deep relaxation, while cooling off in the open air. Once a carbonated bath and a medicinal bath fragrant with herbal remedies have loosened you up, you can spend the whole day refreshing yourself as you please in the tatami area for lying down, the restaurant, and the on-site fitness and amusement areas.

Main bathhouse
A range of specialty tubs set at a comfortable 36–40°C (97–104°F). There is a medicinal bath rich in benefits, with a monthly changing blend such as herbs from Mount Ibuki; a strongly carbonated bath whose fine bubbles envelop the whole body and promote blood flow; and a plain hot-water bath (men’s bath only), with nothing added, where you feel the pure power of the water directly. It eases the tension left after the sauna and warms you from the core, a time of deep peace in which the fatigue of daily life slowly melts away.

Automatic löyly sauna
A tower sauna where pleasant steam envelops the room at a steady rhythm. The men’s side is 90°C (194°F) and holds 30 people, the women’s side 82°C (180°F) and holds 10, each with room to spread out. Heat and fragrance spread softly, and you can feel the warmth reach deep into your body. With a TV screen as well, you can relax and take your time working up a sweat.
Private sauna
A special sauna where you can quietly sit with the heat at your own temperature in a private space. In a luxurious time alone, you can breathe deeply and listen to the sound of the löyly. Your senses sharpen, and you can savor a blissful moment of conversation with yourself.
Meditation sauna
A sauna popular with devotees, where you can turn inward in silence. In this calm room at 84°C (183°F), holding eight people, you can pour löyly yourself whenever you choose. The sound of the water being poured and the fragrance that spreads transform the air, bringing focus and release. It is a special space, rich in the expressive power of heat.
Mist sauna
A sauna where a gentle mist envelops the whole body, leaving you pleasantly moist. At 50°C (122°F) and holding 10 people, this low-temperature mist is easy on the body and comfortable even for those who find stuffy air hard to bear. It is less drying for the skin and throat, letting you warm up gently while you relax.

Cold plunge
Besides a pleasant cold plunge at around 16°C (61°F) that calms the flush after the sauna, the men’s bath also has a bracing ice-cold plunge set at 10°C (50°F). From a gentle cool-down that softly chills the whole body to the exhilaration of intense cold that stings the skin and takes you straight to the limit, you can alternate hot and cold to suit your taste.
