About Minara Natural Hot Spring Riraku

Minara Natural Hot Spring Riraku is a large hot spring resort nestled alongside the mountain ranges of Tōon. It features a vast open-air area with scattered baths, a cold plunge bath fed by spring water, and an outdoor air bath with a forest breeze to gently regulate body temperature and breathing. The men's bath includes a high-output dry sauna with an automatic löyly every 5 minutes, while the women's bath offers a high-humidity steam sauna to relax the skin. With walking baths and cave baths, it is designed for extended stays to thoroughly enjoy the facilities. The adjacent inn, Juraku, offers accommodations as a hot spring ryokan, creating a space where you can warm up from day visits to overnight stays.

First Source: Beautiful Skin Bath

A deep spring drawn from strata approximately 75 million years old. The bicarbonate spring's unique keratin-softening effect leaves the skin surface soft and smooth. Immediately after soaking, you feel a 'silky' smoothness, with a strong sensation of your fingertips gliding over your skin. It has high cleansing power, leaving a 'lightness of bare skin' after bathing, as sebum and old keratin are removed. Suitable for sensitive skin and ideal for long soaks.

Second Source: Warming Bath

A high-temperature deep spring from strata dating back about 200 million years, the dinosaur era. As a chloride spring, it forms a 'salt insulation film' on the skin surface, promoting blood circulation and providing strong heat retention. The warmth dissipates slowly, keeping the body core warm for a long time after bathing. Effective for cold sensitivity and accumulated fatigue, it functions as a 'finishing bath' to reheat deeply after a sauna. Enhances recovery through a sweat-retention cycle.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
