OND HOTEL is a hotel in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture. Its main bathhouse, wrapped in Takeo’s natural surroundings, has two saunas of distinct character on each of the men’s and women’s sides, offering an experience that speaks to all five senses, from löyly you pour yourself to the gentle heat of a wood-burning stove. The cold plunge, drawn from groundwater, refreshes the overheated body as the cold pulls it taut, while the alkaline simple spring known as the “bath of beauty” leaves the skin smooth and moisturized. There are also private saunas and guest rooms with their own sauna, so you can savor blissful moments far from everyday life.

Main bathhouse
The main bathhouse, where you can enjoy Takeo onsen, known as the “bath of beauty.” The alkaline simple spring, silky and soft on the skin, gently envelops your whole body. As you gaze out at Takeo’s natural surroundings beyond the large windows, you can feel the fatigue of body and mind slowly melt away.

SUMI Sauna
A meditation sauna in a calm space styled in black. With löyly you pour yourself, you control the humidity and how the heat spreads to suit your taste. Softly shifting lighting that slowly changes in brightness eases the mind, letting you quietly tune in to your own senses in deep immersion.
MAKI+BONA Sauna
A sauna heated by both a large wood-burning stove and a Bonatherm stove. In the room, fragrant with hinoki, you watch the flickering flames of the firewood while a heat that is deep yet soft wraps around you. Windows look out over Takeo’s rich natural surroundings, so you can enjoy a supremely relaxing time in the stillness.
KUROMUTA Tonbai Sauna
A sauna alive with history and character. Its walls are lined with Tonbai, bricks actually used in the climbing kilns of Kuromuta ware, and the strong heat retention and radiant heat of the thick kiln-shelf slabs carry powerful warmth right to your core. Rich steam from the automatic löyly gently brings on a pleasant, moist sweat.
STEAM Sauna
A steam room filled with soft steam. Even those who find hot dry saunas hard going can warm up gradually and comfortably. The rich humidity gently moisturizes the skin and airways, bringing a pleasant sense of refreshment and deep calm.

Cold plunge
A cold plunge that makes generous use of Takeo’s clear groundwater. Outdoors, a two-level pool deep enough to stand in with water up to your shoulders cools your whole body quickly and evenly. The indoor bath area has a slightly milder cold plunge, so you can choose whichever suits you. The crisp, clear water refreshes the overheated body as the cold pulls it taut, leaving you in perfect shape for cooling off in the open air right after.

Private saunas for exclusive use, with a choice of two aesthetics: Japanese, alive with the warmth of wood, and refined Nordic. Each has its own cold plunge designed to match the space, so you can savor a deep, quiet totonou (a state of profound relaxation) in the style you prefer. Sink into a roomy infinity chair and a superb afterglow spreads through you, undisturbed by anyone.
In-room sauna
A private sauna in each sauna guest room, designed to pursue the totonou experience (a state of deep relaxation) to the fullest. A custom-built sauna made for extra durability and a dedicated cold plunge with a chiller let you enjoy authentic hot-and-cold bathing any time without leaving your room. Some rooms allow cooling off in the open air on the balcony, so you can spend blissful time in a completely private space.

Dedicated cold plunges attached to the Japanese and Nordic private saunas, generously filled with soft groundwater cooled by a chiller. The Japanese room has a spacious pool 90 cm (about 3 ft) deep, and the Nordic room a large ceramic tub 110 cm (about 3.6 ft) across, so you can enjoy a pleasant cool-down in a private space, undisturbed by anyone.
