About SATOYAMA TERRACE
SATOYAMA TERRACE is an outdoor sauna embraced by the rich nature of Futtsu, Chiba. The Mountain Sauna, filled with the fire of a hearth and the scent of firewood, and the Waterfall Sauna, where Futtsu’s natural water cascades down like a waterfall, offer a completely new way to sweat. Your flushed body then cools pleasantly in a cold plunge fed continuously with soft natural water and in a variable-temperature plunge blended with wild herbs. Especially noteworthy are the carefully designed rest areas. When cooling off in the open air on the wooden deck, the wind of the wooded hills rushes over your whole body, while in the indoor rest tent, fitted with custom-made mattresses, your whole body lets go in any season. It is a special time in which body and mind are set free in harmony with nature.

Mountain Sauna
A special sauna where you sit on benches that rise and fall like a mountain and watch the flames flicker in the hearth. Two stoves generate powerful heat, and the room is filled with the rich scent of firewood and wild herbs. It is an immersive experience full of deep calm that gently stirs all five senses, as if you were spending quiet time in a hut deep in the mountains.
Waterfall Sauna
A dreamlike space where Futtsu’s natural water tumbles down a dynamic waterfall built of natural stone, filling the room with the pleasant sound of water and plenty of humidity. It is a one-of-a-kind relaxation experience that fuses takigyo, the ascetic practice of standing under a waterfall, felt here through the spray, with sauna bathing. Your whole body is wrapped in fresh, moist heat, as if becoming one with an abundant source of water.
Cold BathCOLD BATH
Kiyome-no-Suijin
A cold plunge where you can enjoy Futtsu’s natural water, nurtured by the rich wooded hills, fed continuously at its natural temperature. In a setting that pays homage to Taki-no-Fudoson, a renowned local spring water, you feel directly the fine, soft texture of water that seems to cling to the skin. This gift of the earth gently cools a flushed body and brings a pure, refreshing clarity.
Yojo-no-Suijin
A unique variable-temperature plunge whose water temperature changes with the seasons. In summer it is a crisp, cold bath where the cold pulls the body sharply taut; in winter it becomes warm water that slowly loosens the body. The scent of wild herbs blended into the natural water spreads gently, leading you into deep relaxation as you feel the shifting rhythms of nature through the seasons.
Rest areas (cooling off in the open air and indoor rest tent)
Recliners lined up on the wooden deck let you take in the breeze of the wooded hills over your whole body as you cool off in the open air, and the indoor rest tent has custom-made mattresses where you can sink in and let go completely. Unaffected by season or weather, you can savor a special time of rest in which body and mind are set free in harmony with nature.

By train and bus
- JR Uchibo Line to Kazusa-Minato Station → Nitto Kotsu bus, Tozurahara Dam Line (board at the Kazusa-Minato Station stop) → get off at Rokuno
- About 17 minutes’ walk (1.2 km / 0.7 mi) from the Rokuno bus stop
