About Kitoushi Forest Kitoron
Kitoushi Forest Kitoron is a bathing resort complex in Higashikawa, Hokkaido. In a space full of the warmth of wood, designed with the involvement of architect Kengo Kuma, you can take in the countryside as it changes through the seasons. The bathing area offers Thoron Onsen, which warms you to the core through far-infrared effects. The saunas are authentic Finnish saunas, each with its own character, where löyly you pour yourself brings a superb sweat. After the cold plunge, lavishly filled with underground spring water from the Daisetsuzan range, pulls the body taut, enjoy a blissful spell of relaxation cooling off in the open air in the breeze of the great outdoors. Main bathhouse
A main bathhouse where you can enjoy Thoron Onsen, an artificial onsen made with thoron bath minerals. Far-infrared effects warm the body gently to its core, and the pleasant warmth lingers long after you leave the bath. Large windows look out over the countryside of Higashikawa.

Sauna 1 (Herb Sauna)
A sauna wrapped in the natural fragrance of rosemary and other herbs grown in the town. Its stove, by the long-established Finnish maker HARVIA, lets you pour your own löyly. The rich scent of herbs and the pleasant steam envelop the whole body and lead you into deep relaxation.
Sauna 2 (Mountain Sauna)
A sauna room inspired by the mountains, with a stove designed after the cairns that mark the trail up Mount Asahidake. In authentic Finnish style, you can enjoy löyly you pour yourself, pouring water over the hot sauna stones. Powerful heat and steam spread at once, bringing on a thorough sweat from deep within the body.
Sauna 3 (Meditation Sauna)
A meditative space lit only by a few faint lights, evoking a quiet forest at night. Away from the bustle of daily life, you can slowly turn inward in the silence. The soft heat and humidity of löyly you pour yourself are soothing, and you can spend a blissful time calming the mind and sinking into deep immersion.
Sauna 4 (Panoramic Sauna)
A panoramic sauna room where you sweat while gazing at the lovely countryside of Higashikawa spread out before you. Natural light pours in through large windows, and you can savor the scenery outside as it changes with each season. Along with the heat of löyly you pour yourself, you can enjoy a heartwarming, luxurious moment in an open, airy space.

Cold plunge
A cold plunge of mineral-rich groundwater drawn from the underground spring water of the Daisetsuzan range, chosen as one of Hokkaido’s famous waters. The crisp, refreshing chill gently wraps the body flushed from the sauna and pulls it taut. After the cold plunge, cool down at leisure in the outdoor space for cooling off in the open air, with the breeze of the great outdoors, or in the relaxation room. The same underground spring water is also on tap at the drinking fountain in the bathing room, refreshing you pleasantly from within as well.
