About Kitoushi no Mori Kitoron
"Kitoushi no Mori Kitoron" is a hot spring and spa complex resort in Higashikawa, Hokkaido. Designed with the involvement of architect Kengo Kuma, the wood-filled space offers views of the changing rural landscape throughout the four seasons. The bathing area features Tron hot spring baths that warm you deeply from within through far-infrared effects. The saunas include authentic Finnish-style sauna rooms with different atmospheres, where you can enjoy an exceptional sweating experience with self-löyly. After cooling off in the cold plunge bath made with abundant groundwater from the Daisetsuzan mountain range, relax in the open-air bath area and feel the breeze of nature for a blissful moment of relaxation. With a restaurant and shop on site as well, you can comfortably spend the whole day here.
Hot SpringONSEN
Large Bath
A large bath where you can enjoy the artificial hot spring Tron Bath, made with Tron bath agents. Its far-infrared effect gently warms you deep within, and the pleasant warmth continues even after you get out of the bath. The large windows offer sweeping views of the rural landscape of Higashikawa.
SaunaSAUNA
Sauna 1 (Herb Sauna)
A sauna enveloped in natural aromas, using herbs including rosemary harvested in town. It features a HARVIA stove from Finland, and self-löyly is available. The rich herbal fragrance and soothing steam surround your whole body and lead you into deep relaxation.
Sauna 2 (Mountain Sauna)
A mountain-themed sauna room with a stove design inspired by the cairn that serves as a landmark on the way to Mount Asahidake. Built in an authentic Finnish-style layout, you can enjoy self-löyly by pouring water over the heated sauna stones. Powerful heat and steam spread at once, thoroughly encouraging perspiration from deep within the body.
Sauna 3 (Meditation Sauna)
A meditative space with only subtle lighting, evoking a quiet forest at night. Step away from the noise of everyday life and take your time facing yourself in silence. The gentle heat and humidity created by self-löyly are comforting, allowing you to calm your mind and enjoy a blissful time immersed in a deep sense of presence.
Sauna 4 (Panoramic Sauna)
A panoramic sauna room where you can work up a sweat while looking out at the beautiful rural scenery of Higashikawa spreading before you. You can enjoy natural light streaming through the large windows and the seasonal changes in the view outside. Along with the heat of self-löyly, you can savor a luxurious and heartwarming moment in a spacious, open setting.

Cold Plunge Bath
A mineral-rich underground-water cold plunge bath made from groundwater pumped up from the Daisetsuzan mountain range, selected as one of Hokkaido's famous waters. Its crisp, refreshing water gently envelops and tightens your body after sauna heat. After the cold plunge bath, cool down at your leisure in the outdoor bathing area or relaxation room, where you can feel the breeze of nature. You can also taste the same groundwater at the drinking fountain inside the bathing area, refreshing yourself from the inside as well.
