"Jozankei Yuraku Sōan" is a hot spring ryokan in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Nestled in the valley of Jozankei Onsen, which has a history spanning more than 150 years, it offers a deep sense of tranquility that gently draws you away from the bustle of travel. The large public bath features an indoor cypress bath and a stone bath, while the open-air area includes reclining baths, waterfall baths, and pot baths, all filled with mildly saline spring water that softly envelops the skin. It also has a dry sauna, a cold plunge bath, and bedrock baths, allowing guests to fully savor the pleasures of bathing and sweating. Four private open-air baths, each with its own character, can be used free of charge as often as you like when available, and every guest room is equipped with a natural hot spring bath made of hiba wood. Thoughtful touches such as ice cream in the bathing lounge and late-night ramen add to the hospitality that enriches the stay.

A large public bath filled with sodium chloride spring water drawn from the forests of Jozankei. The colorless, transparent water blends gently with the skin, and because the salt helps reduce the evaporation of sweat, warmth lingers long after you get out. The bathing options are varied, from the indoor bath scented with cypress, to the stately stone bath, to the open-air reclining baths, waterfall baths, and pot baths, all of which let you enjoy bathing while gazing at the mountains stretching out before you.
Private Bath
A private open-air bath that requires no reservation and can be used free of charge as often as you like when available. With bath tubs made of cypress, pottery, hiba wood, and stone, each with a different atmosphere, closing the door creates a world just for you and your companions. Being surrounded by the valley breeze and the rustling trees while soaking in the bath, without worrying about anyone else, is a luxury found only at this inn. You will want to return to it again and again, changing baths throughout your stay.

Dry Sauna
A dry sauna wrapped in wood and lit with a calm, subdued brightness. In the silence typical of a valley inn, the dry heat strokes your skin and gradually sinks deep into the body.
