About Jozankei View Hotel
Jozankei View Hotel is a large onsen hotel in Sapporo, Hokkaido. It has Yusuikyo, a vast main bathhouse below ground, and Seiten, a panoramic open-air bath on the top floor 60 m (197 ft) above the ground that looks down over the gorge, and both let you soak in a sodium chloride spring known for holding its warmth. The sauna area, fully renovated in 2024, now has six saunas and cooling rooms in total across the FIVE SENSE SAUNA, which stirs the five senses with scent and light, and the NATURE COLOR SAUNA, which lets you feel the energy of the natural world. There is also a huge indoor heated pool, so adults and children alike can make the most of a resort stay far removed from everyday life.
Hot SpringONSEN
Main bathhouse Yusuikyo
An onsen paradise where a spacious hall holds a wide variety of baths, including an open-air bath and a jacuzzi. The sodium chloride spring, known for holding its warmth, envelops a chilled body and warms it to the core. From the open-air bath you can feel Jozankei’s rich nature up close, and enjoy a rustic soak to birdsong and the sound of wind passing through the forest.
Seiten panoramic bath
A spectacular open-air bath in the sky on the hotel’s top floor, 60 m (197 ft) above the ground. A beautiful gorge spreads out below, and at night you can have a romantic view of a sky full of stars all to yourself. Soak in the renowned water as time drifts quietly by, and spend a luxurious moment far from everyday life.

Woody Sauna (FIVE SENSE SAUNA)
A sauna built entirely of hinoki, where the fresh scent of the wood surrounds you and automatic löyly sends out bursts of hot steam at regular intervals, warming you to the core the way a sauna in Finland does. Under a warm, soft glow, the gentle, steady heat draws you into deep relaxation.
White Steam Sauna (FIVE SENSE SAUNA)
A steam room set apart by its all-white interior and a refreshing aroma. Dense white steam wraps gently around your whole body, letting tired eyes and a busy mind rest while you slowly warm through. With the pleasant scent and soft heat, it makes for a blissful spell of detox.
Red Hot Sauna (NATURE COLOR SAUNA)
A high-temperature sauna with heat that stands out as especially powerful even in the Jozankei area. Bathed in deep red light, the room evokes the energetic warmth of the sun. The hard-hitting heat reaches deep into body and mind, and a good, cleansing sweat leaves you thoroughly refreshed.
Yellow Sauna (NATURE COLOR SAUNA)
A mild sauna with a soft yellow interior inspired by Hokkaido’s pasturelands. Its gentle, gradual warmth means even those who find intense heat hard going can relax at ease. Feel the energy of the land and lose track of time as you unwind.
Black Cooling Room
A dark, otherworldly space wrapped in dreamlike lighting and the scent of aroma oils. As your flushed body gently cools down, you may find yourself closing your eyes and sinking into deep meditation. Senses sharpened in the silence lead you to an exceptional state of totonou, a deep, blissful calm, unlike anything before.
Blue Cooling Room
A cooling room steeped in deep blue, where light that mimics rippling water sways quietly. The space feels cool to the eye as well, and your heated body slowly unwinds. A cool aroma settles the lingering warmth, and you are filled with a freshness like standing at the water’s edge.

Cold plunge
