About Suichokan

"Suichokan" is a women-only spa ryokan in Jozankei Onsen, Sapporo, Hokkaido. The sauna room, renewed in May 2023, features a gentle step-like design that keeps the body from being overstrained. Enjoy self-löyly with organically grown herbs picked from the inn's own garden, all in a comfortable temperature and humidity. After the sauna, a pleasantly textured cold plunge bath, outdoor air bathing in the clear mountain breeze of Jozankei, and the natural hot spring with sodium chloride spring water and excellent heat-retention properties soothe both mind and body from the core.

Jozankei Onsen

A high-quality natural hot spring available in the large public bath indoor baths, open-air baths, and private baths. The spring water is sodium chloride spring water, and after bathing, the salt forms a film on the skin that helps lock in moisture, providing excellent heat retention and keeping you warm for a long time after leaving the bath. In the open-air baths, you can enjoy the soft spring water that is known for being gentle on the skin and good for beauty while admiring the breeze and the changing seasons of Jozankei's natural surroundings, and spend a peaceful moment.

A step-style sauna room designed to be gentle and supportive for women's bodies. The seating is arranged with gradual levels at 1 tier, 1.5 tiers, 2 tiers, and 2.5 tiers, so you can choose a spot that suits your mood and condition that day. Enjoy self-löyly with natural aroma water infused with organically grown herbs from the inn's own garden and blended medicinal herbs, and let the rich humidity and fragrance of the room help you sweat comfortably and naturally.

Women's

A mildly cool cold plunge bath located right next to the sauna room. The water temperature is set so that it is not too cold, allowing you to gently and evenly cool down after warming up thoroughly in the sauna or natural hot spring. If you relax in the outdoor air-bathing area accessible from the spa zone, you can be wrapped in Jozankei's rich mountain air and quiet atmosphere, and fully enjoy a luxurious state of totonou in a calm space unique to a women-only inn.
