After bathing, you can spend a luxurious and relaxing time in the stylish Japanese-Western fusion Yuzō Lounge.

Hot Spring & Bath Information

Yunokawa Onsen

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Yuzō, the large public bath that generously uses Hakodate’s celebrated Yunokawa Onsen. The sodium-calcium chloride spring water contains abundant salt content similar to seawater, and when you bathe in it, the salt film coats the skin like a veil, delivering excellent warming and moisturizing effects that make it hard to cool down afterward. The open-air bath, whose beautiful ceiling beam structure creates a Japanese-Western fusion aesthetic, features a stunning waterfall-style spout where hot spring water pours down from about 3 meters high, allowing you to fully enjoy this famous spring together with the reclining baths and pot baths.

Because the heat source is not exposed, the room’s temperature and humidity are kept even, making it easier to breathe. The pleasant warmth that gently rises from the benches warms the body thoroughly and softly from the core. While feeling the warmth of the wood and relaxing to calm background music, you can enjoy a generous and satisfying sweat.

Its mild, enveloping texture spreads a refreshing sense of renewal. After the cold plunge bath, you can enjoy the best outdoor air bath in the Wellness Living Room, where the modern design of the open-air area stands out, while feeling Hakodate’s pleasant sea breeze.
